I'm a writer and independent researcher based in Evanston, Illinois. My plays have been produced by Rude Mechanicals (where I was a company member) and Austin Script Works, and presented by Actors Theatre of Louisville. I've directed large-scale events at the Paramount Theatre and ACL Live. I'm a Rockefeller MAP Fund recipient and was selected by Edward Albee for his playwriting master class at the University of Houston. My work is published in Fence and Hobart.
I'm currently at work on a book-length documentary project drawn from county deed records, census pages, and other public archives.
With composer Robert Melton, I write musicals as the team Beegle/Melton. We're seeking production partners for two shows: "Computer Chess," recently workshopped with Northwestern's American Music Theatre Project, and "SOPHiE," a 1995-set rock musical about a phone-terrorizing loner who forms an all-female band and discovers her worst impulses make the best songs.
